Summer Skies

At last we have some warm summer days. Coming from the city where the sky is often obscured by buildings, I really appreciate the vastness of the sky over open fields and watching fluffy clouds rolling by, or even vast grey behemoths gathering in the distance, here in Sutton cum Lound.

These magnificent skies are so difficult to capture in paint, but with our friend and guest artist, Elaine Nash, to give us encouragement as well as a few hints and tips, we all had a go at creating our own ‘Big Sky’, and had lots of fun (and ups and downs, it has to be said) in the process. You can see some of our WIPs below.
